Providing unique individuals a safe and caring environment to grow and achieve their greatest potential.
Our programs are tailored to the needs of each community, school, and family we work with and we employ an experienced leadership team of current and former school district personnel.
Hear what our parents are saying...
I am a parent of a special needs (autistic) child aged 8 years old. We live in the Roswell area and I cannot begin to explain how difficult is it to find good resources in this region that meet the specific needs of our child. Last summer we were fortunate to find out about Camp UIR. Since that time our child has visited Camp UIR several times and he is always excited when he does. Camp UIR provides an invaluable resource for us as special needs parents. Our child not only loves going there, but he is gaining such a wonderful experience with the teachers/counselors and in particular the outdoor activities. These activities give him such a great outlet for his energy and enthusiasm. I couldn’t imagine not having Camp UIR in the area – we will continue to support them in any and every way possible.
We want to enthusiastically praise the staff at Unique Individual Ranch. Our 7 year old son, Miles, had the privilege of going to UIR for summer camp this year, and he was absolutely delighted. Miles has special needs and often struggles with verbal communication, but every day of camp, his face would light up and he would find his words and ask us to help him to the car and buckle him up. He just could not wait to go, and he seemed to enjoy every minute of camp, coming home tired from the day's activities. He especially loved water day and the arts and crafts activities. We greatly appreciated how welcoming and supportive the camp staff was, and we cannot thank the staff enough for how much they helped him. We are also extremely thankful that the camp was so affordable even while being able to meet his needs, so that he could have the same summer experiences as his siblings and peers.
Our family first found Unique Individual Ranch when my now 13 year-old daughter was expelled from her elementary school’s after school program when she was 5. Programs supporting children with special needs are incredibly rare, and we are so grateful that, 8 years later, UIR continues to offer programs with staff whom we now consider like family. Having a child with special needs will always be a challenge for us, but the peace of mind we have knowing she will have a fun summer with her friends in a safe, clean space with people who know and understand her is priceless. Our daughter has thrived at UIR — whether she's spending time in nature on walks, or creating art where she can be as messy as she’d like, or cooking a snack or meal for herself or her friends, UIR has offered so many therapeutic and essential life skills.
